What is cast iron skillet?

When I started creating music, I knew absolutely nothing. My first recordings were made on a free photo editing app with layered voice overs. It wasn't pretty, but we all have to start somewhere, right?

Cast Iron Skillet was a very random occurrence. I made a bunch of Imovies with my friends every summer, and one year I put Cast Iron Skillet in the production company category, and the name just stuck. I reflected on it when I got more involved in music, and I realized that I wanted that to be the name of my band someday.

However, I don't have a band. I kept telling myself that as soon as i found the right people, Cast Iron Skillet would come to life. Putting something like that off did bother me, though. After attending the Berklee Valencia program in Fall 2024 and seeing all of the incredibly motivated and talented musicians there, I realized I didn't want to wait anymore to bring Cast Iron Skillet to life. I was going to start it, and let the members come to me

 

So now I have this name, which I don't fully use because people tell me its not good for a single musician. Wizard skillet is my alteration of it, if you can pick up on the twist i used for it. One day, Cast Iron Skillet will exist, but for now its just me. I'm okay with that, but don't forget the name. She's coming, i can promise you that.

p.s. i know the abbreviation is CIS, and i think thats hilarious, because i'm not. just another level of irony to add to the whole shabang!
